What to do for Easter in Cusco?
Easter is one of the most important religious holidays in the world and the millenary Cusco is no exception. During those dates, many tourists take advantage of this vacation to visit Machu Picchu and it is advisable to buy the train to the Inca Citadel in advance.

To end the reflective Holy Week, the Archbishop of Cusco organizes a mass in the Cathedral that will be the starting point for a great procession that will bring together all the devotees.
After these activities, the best of the region’s gastronomy will be offered in the main streets of Cusco to delight all visitors with dishes such as tasty chicken broth, empanadas, white corn candy, tamales, and cakes.

Is Machu Picchu open during Easter?
Yes, Machu Picchu will be open during the Easter holidays. On these dates, you will find national and international tourists willing to get to know the Inca citadel. Therefore, we recommend buying your train tickets in advance so that you have the opportunity to get to know a Wonder of the World. We recommend that for your visit to Cusco and Machu Picchu you bring plastic ponchos, umbrellas and/or waterproof jackets, sunscreen and repellent.
