Luggage included in your train ticket: 1 backpack or carry-on bag
Weight: 8 kg (17.64 lb)
Maximum dimensions: 157 cm (height + length + width)
If your luggage exceeds the limit:
- Store it free of charge at our storage facilities, or Pay an additional fee to bring it on board:
- $15 for carry-on luggage (up to 8 kg)
- $25 for checked luggage (up to 23 kg)
- The Hiram Bingham train does not allowed extra luggage on board. To do so, you can make us of our storage room free of charge.

Allowed luggage: Passengers taking the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu may carry additional luggage for the outbound journey (not applicable for return trips).
Present your UGM permit and contact equipaje@perurail.com at least 48 hours before departure (subject to availability).

You can store additional luggage free of charge at our storage facilities or bring it on board for an extra fee. Choose the option that suits your needs and enjoy a seamless journey to iconic destinations like Machu Picchu, Cusco, Puno, and Arequipa.
FREE LUGGAGE STORAGE
PeruRail offers complimentary luggage storage services for passengers at the following stations:
- Ollantaytambo Station: 04:15 hrs – 21:00 hrs
- Machu Picchu Station: 05:00 hrs – 22:00 hrs
Available every day, including holidays.
ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR EXTRA LUGGAGE
If you wish to travel with extra luggage, the cost is as follows:
- $25 for checked luggage
- $15 for carry-on luggage
Extra luggage fees must be paid at our sales points in Ollantaytambo, Wanchaq, San Pedro, Machu Picchu and Poroy (operational from April to December). Not applicable for the Hiram Bingham train

Yes, but each passenger is responsible for safeguarding them during the journey (cash, jewelry, documents, electronic equipment, etc.). We suggest not to leave valuable or fragile objects in your luggage in storage (if it applies to your train ticket), since PeruRail will not be held responsible for the loss or damage of any object of value.
